Eagles to the rescue

Firefighters retrieve a stranded parrot

Posted

Last Wednesday, July 21, Jen Fisher’s beloved parrot, Zazu, escaped from Jen’s hands outside in New Hope, and flew deep into the nearby woods. A heartbroken Jen called and searched for the bird to no avail.
She called New Hope’s Eagle Fire Company, which has been called on for many animal rescues over the years. The firefighters and onlookers spotted the bird in the woods, high up on a large tree.

After several attempts with special equipment, fire personnel were able to dislodge the bird from its hiding place, forcing it to fly down to a street level spot nearby.
At the end, Jen ran to the spot and joyfully grabbed a hungry Zazu.
