Doylestown Memorial Day Parade is back on

Posted

Pull out your lawn chairs, American flags and all your patriotic gear, Doylestown’s iconic Memorial Day Parade will fill the streets after all.

With Gov. Tom Wolf’s announcement that all COVID-19 restrictions, except masking, will be lifted May 31st, organizers of the community’s historic parade were delighted to reverse plans to cancel the popular event.

“The Memorial Day Committee revisited the decision to cancel and is very happy to announce that the 2021 Doylestown Memorial Day Parade will be held,” borough officials said in a statement.

Dedicated committee volunteers and the Central Bucks School District are credited with rallying quickly to restore the parade on such short notice. The application deadline for parade participants is extended to May 21 at 4:30 p.m. Applications are available at this link – 2021 Memorial Day Packet Extended Deadline.

A mandatory meeting for all parade participants will be held May 20 at 7 p.m. at the Albert R. Atkinson American Legion Post 210 at 315 North Street in Doylestown, the borough said.
