Doylestown chorus offers singing lessons for men

Posted

In an effort to help men experience the joy of singing, the Bucks County Country Gentlemen chapter is providing a series of free singing lessons. The chapter is a nonprofit organization with a focus on bringing joy and song to the community.

The “Learn To Sing” program will be offered Tuesdays from March 26 through April 16, from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. at two locations in Doylestown (varies by day). There is no cost for the lessons or materials; it’s one of the community services from the organization.

Many folks sing in the car or shower yet don’t think they can do so with others. These lessons will help you sing better, sing with others, and most importantly, gain confidence. The goals are to get the most out of your voice while enjoying singing.

There is no requirement to read music. No previous singing experience is needed. Every age is welcome from teens to seniors. “You can be 15, 55, or 85,” commented Ritchie Lavene, the director of the Bucks County Country Gentlemen and Jersey Sound choruses, who will lead the “Learn To Sing” program.

The chapter performs across a wide area (Doylestown, Perkasie, Warrington, Warminster, Newtown, New Hope, Bristol, Abington, etc.) and invites anyone within driving distance to participate. As there are a limited number of spots, sign-up is required. Call Andrew at 215-639-7108, or for information, visit www.buckscountybarbershop.com.
