Total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania at 2,827,882

Harrisburg - The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed that as of May 4, there were 2,398 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide cumulative total cases to 2,827,882.

There was one new death identified by the Pennsylvania death registry and reported for a cumulative total of 44,733 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

There are 2,342,299 confirmed cases and 485,583 who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases.

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rules, and regulations, including health care, local business and workplace guidance. For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public.

Numbers by county as of May 4

  • Bucks County: 125,424 cases and 1,898 deaths
  • Chester County: 93,973 cases and 1,158 deaths
  • Delaware County: 112,267 cases and 1,874 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 90,776 cases and 1,242 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 156,254 cases and 2,324 deaths
  • Northampton County: 80,977 cases and 1,093 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 314,469 cases and 5,105 deaths

The Department of Health continues to provide the public with extensive and frequently updated data on both the COVID-19 dashboard and the vaccine dashboard. Both dashboards provide an interactive experience for the user to review statewide and local-level data updated daily.

The department will continue to provide data via online dashboards; however,  as of May 4, the dashboards will be updated on a weekly basis.
