Total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania at 2,766,270

Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that on March 9, there were 1,286 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide cumulative total cases to 2,776,270.

There were 12 new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry and reported for a cumulative total of 43,730 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

There are 472,377 who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases. There are 6,092,224 individuals who have tested negative to date.

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rules and regulations, including health care, local business and workplace guidance. For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public.

  • Bucks County: 122,130 cases and 1,853 deaths
  • Chester County: 90,881 cases and 1,125 deaths
  • Delaware County: 109,076 cases and 1,838 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 88,933 cases and 1,228 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 150,310 cases and 2,285 deaths
  • Northampton County: 78,974 cases and 1,074 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 305,537 cases and 5,013 deaths
