Total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania at 2,751,352

Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that on Feb. 24, there were 1,756 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide cumulative total cases to 2,751,352.

There were 21 new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry and reported for a cumulative total of 43,069 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

There are 469,344 who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases. There are 6,056,269 individuals who have tested negative to date.

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rules and regulations, including health care, local business and workplace guidance. For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public. Bucks County is in an area of substantial transmission. CDC also recommends all individuals wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.

The CDC lists Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties as areas of high transmission.

  • Chester County: 90,329 cases and 1,109 deaths
  • Delaware County: 106,643 cases and 1,814 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 88,686 cases and 1,214 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 149,527 cases and 2,262 deaths
  • Northampton County: 78,693 cases and 1,066 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 303,791 cases and 4,950 deaths
