Nockamixon is organizing a cleanup to celebrate Earth Day on April 20 during which volunteers will take action to clean, renew and restore the township.
Gloves, bags and safety vests will be supplied to volunteers who attend the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Volunteers are asked to meet at the township building at 589 Lake Warren Road.
Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful is organizing the cleanup.
“Cleaning up litter and making small improvements to our shared community spaces, like planting a tree or flowers or painting a community structure, helps create safer, healthier and more livable neighborhoods,” said Shannon Reiter, the group’s president.
