Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia returns to Bucks for String Orchestra Spectacular

Posted

The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia is returning to Bucks County for a special performance of string orchestra masterworks.

The orchestra, a resident ensemble of the Kimmel Center, launched its Bucks County series in 2023. This year’s performance is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Holland Middle School, 400 E. Holland Road, Holland.

Two masterpieces of the string repertoire, Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade for Strings” and Grieg’s “Holberg Suite,” anchor the program. Conductor Sebastian Grand, who leads the orchestra, said, in part, “It is such a joy to work with the wonderful musicians of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and especially rare to have them perform in our own back yard. I would encourage anyone who has been putting off a trip to the Kimmel Center to attend.”

The program also features two solo cellists, in a performance of Vivaldi’s “Concerto for Two Cellos.” Noelle Grand, who serves as principal cello of the Bucks County Symphony, and Branson Yeast both boast significant performance careers and perform regularly with Opera Philadelphia, Bach Choir of Bethlehem, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Ballet, among others.

Tickets are available at chamberorchestra.org. Limited seats will be available on the door. Tickets are $45 for general admission and $15 for students. Contact info@grandschoolofmusic.com for information or ticket assistance.
