Rooney shatters Titans record

Posted

Central Bucks South junior Riley Rooney clocked a 4:55.98 last Thursday in the girls 1,600-meter run at Pennridge’s Helman/Hosier Invitational.

Rooney not only won the event – by nearly 17 seconds over runner-up Lily Norcross of Central Bucks East – but she also became the first Titan to record a sub-5:00 minute time.

Needless to say, it was also a new school record.

Rooney won the SOL Colonial and overall cross country title on Oct. 21 at the Suburban One League championships. She medaled in the mile with a 5:03.96 (sixth place) at Penn State in February’s 2024 PTFCA Indoor Championships.
