Central Bucks Regional Police officers commended

Posted

When a military veteran had an episode of PTSD earlier this year in Doylestown Borough, it was three trained Central Bucks Regional Police Department members who came to the vet’s aid.

Officer Dan Boyle, Corporal Sean Tropiano and Sergeant Jaclyn Riccio were recognized for their response at a June meeting of the Central Bucks Regional Police Commission.

The incident took place at War Memorial Field on May 28. Using their de-escalation training, the police were able to resolve the situation with the support of the veteran’s father, the Bucks County Veterans Affairs office and a representative from the Travis Manion Foundation, officials said.

The vet’s father and a Bucks County Veterans Affairs member were on hand to express their gratitude and appreciation for the officers’ “professionalism and compassion.”

The veteran served five tours of duty during his military service.
