Centennial School District earns award for technology integration

Posted

Centennial School District has been selected to receive the 2023 Richard B. Lewis Award from the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) and the Technology Integrated Learning Division of AECT.

This award recognizes outstanding technology integration and media utilization programs in K-12 education. As recipients of the 2023 Richard B. Lewis Award, Centennial School District will receive a cash award and a commemorative plaque. The award presentation will take place during the AECT annual convention, which will be held in Kansas City this October.

Centennial School District was selected for its systemic adoption and increased utilization of the learning management system, Canvas.

Spearheaded by the Digital and Online Learning Coordinator Kristen Herman, a district team expanded students’ post-pandemic, online and digital learning opportunities.

“The CSD team heeded the call to prepare our students for their increasingly digital futures,” Herman said. “What sets CSD apart from peer districts is its centering of faculty as digital designers, best able to create online learning experiences that support students socially, emotionally and academically.”
