Comcast has named Bucks County resident Dennis Mathew as senior vice president of the company’s Freedom Region, leading a team of approximately 2,300 employees who serve more than two million customers across Greater Philadelphia, New Jersey and northern Delaware.
In this role, Mathew is the top executive responsible for all aspects of the business, including the customer experience, sales, marketing, operations, and financial performance.
Mathew, who has lived in the Philadelphia area for most of his career, joins the Freedom region after spending two years leading Comcast’s Western New England Region. He previously held a series of senior management positions at Comcast, including vice president & general manager of Xfinity Home. He also previously held management positions focused on technology risk consulting with both PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen.
He earned his Bachelor of Science from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He will be based in the region’s headquarters located in Trevose.

The U.S. Small Business Administration Eastern Pennsylvania District Office is ready to accept nominations for its 2022 National and District Small Business Week Awards, including the annual Small Business Person of the Year award. (The Eastern Pennsylvania District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration serves the 40 eastern counties of Pennsylvania.)

The SBA Awards given in celebration of National and District Small Business Week include: Small Business Person of the Year (National and District); Small Business Exporter (National and District); Entrepreneurial Success; Family-Owned Business of the Year; Minority-Owned Small Business Person of the Year; Veteran-Owned Small Business Person of the Year; Woman-Owned Small Business Person of the Year; and Young Entrepreneur of the Year
All nominations must be received by the Eastern Pennsylvania District office by electronic submission only to the District’s BOX account, no later 3 p.m. Jan. 11, 2022.

On Nov. 10, Grace M. Deon, a shareholder, president and CEO of the law firm Eastburn and Gray, participated as a guest lecturer for law students enrolled in Temple University Beasley School of Law’s prestigious Federal Judicial Clerkship Clinical Honors Program, which includes weekly chambers and classroom components.
Deon was the featured speaker and U.S. District Court Judge Mitchell S. Goldberg served as the moderator. The lecture included a variety of employment law topics, with an emphasis on litigating such claims before federal courts.
Deon’s law practice includes employment, commercial and special education litigation. She is a past president of the Bucks County Bar Association.
