Budget cuts should start with defense spending

Posted

Sen. Chuck Schumer says he wants to know where budget cuts should be made. That’s easy, defense spending. Our military budget is on the order of $1 trillion per year, about 40% of the world’s defense expenditure and as much as the next 10 nations combined. Can somebody explain why? I’ll wait. Frankly, I’d rather have better health care, infrastructure, education and job training, keep my entitlements and lower both taxes and the national debt. Let’s finally just say no to the military-industrial protection racket.
