Bucks County Free Library hosts Open Mic Night, Author Fair

Posted

Local writers can get their creative juices flowing with two days of creative programs at the Bucks County Free Library’s Doylestown branch.

Tom Mallouk, Bucks County’s Poet Laureate and curator of the Bucks County Herald’s Poet’s Corner, will kick things off with an Open Mic Night at the Doylestown branch 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. Local writers who wish to read up to two poems should register through the Doylestown program calendar at calendar.buckslib.org. Reading slots are limited and available first come, first served. Registration is not required to come and listen in.

The fun continues with the library’s Author Fair, set for Saturday, Nov. 4, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Doylestown branch. Local authors will sell signed copies of their books and attendees are invited to chat with published writers to learn more about the writing and publication process. Registration is not required for attendees.

Special guests at the Author Fair will include Claudine Wolk, the co-author of “Get Your Book Seen and Sold: The Complete Book Marketing and Publishing Guide” and Kate Brenton, author of “Rebirth: Real-Life Stories about What Happens When You Let Go and Let Life Lead.”

In addition, local writers participating in National Novel Writing Month are encouraged to write together in the library’s group study room during the Author Fair. No reservations or registration required.

Bucks County Free Library’s Doylestown branch is located at 150 S. Pine St., Doylestown Borough.
