Bucks County Academy of Fencing earns medals at North American Cup

The Bucks County Academy of Fencing recently competed in the Veterans North American Cup in Louisville. The event is open to international fencers age 40 and up.

In veteran men’s 60 foil, Paul Epply-Schmidt finished second and he was seventh in veteran combined men’s foil.

Jim Flint captured third in veteran 70 men’s epee.

In veteran combined women’s epee, Klaudia Shick finished fifth.

In addition to his performance at this event, Epply-Schmidt qualified to represent the U.S. at the Veterans World Fencing championships, Oct. 6-12, 2022 in Zadar, Croatia. He placed seventh out of 60 entries in the Vet-60 men’s foil.

Drew Cotlar, who traveled to Lille, France, for a European Veteran’s Circuit event on Jan 22, finished 24th out of 40 entries in the Vet-50 men’s foil.

The Bucks County Academy of Fencing has two locations: 287 S. Main St., Lambertville, N.J., and 1713 Bethlehem Pike, Hatfield.
