Bristol Borough man admits killing 4-month-old son

Posted

Tyler Sullivan, 30, of Bristol Borough, on Wednesday pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child in the death of his 4-month-old son in May 2023.

Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Gary B. Gilman accepted the plea and scheduled Sullivan’s sentencing for Aug. 27.

Bristol Borough Police officers responded to the 1000 block of Radcliffe Street late on May 24. Upon arrival they reported finding the baby not breathing and cold to the touch. Despite receiving CPR at the scene and transportation to Lower Bucks Hospital, the baby was pronounced dead at just after midnight.

The doctor that examined the baby’s body noticed contusions, bruising and abrasions throughout his body that police said are indicative of a battered child. Further investigation reportedly concluded that Sullivan violently shook the baby twice that day and at least a half-dozen times in the preceding weeks.
