ArtWRKD brings wearable art fashion show to Newtown Theatre

ArtWRKD art consortium is hosting an experiential evening where bespoke fashion meets art at the historic Newtown Theatre on Friday, May 12.

Hosted by ArtWRKD, the evening will be the opening of the Wearable Art and Fiber Exhibition that will run through the month of May at ArtWRKD Exhibition Space in Newtown. The fashion and fiber exhibition will highlight the artistry in Bucks County and beyond.

The evening starts between 5:30 and 7 p.m. at ArtWRKD’s exhibition space, 126-128 S. State St., Newtown. There, guests can take in a Fiber Exhibition featuring textile artists Mary Schwarzenberger, Katie Truk, Mary Tooley Parker, Lucine and Jessy Ridgeway. Ticket holders can come and go anytime between 5:30 and 7, and are encouraged to grab dinner and drinks in town.

Starting at 7 p.m., the historic Newtown Theatre will open its doors for the Wearable Art Fashion Show, which begins at 8 p.m. The show will feature a surprise lineup of 13 artists combining wearable, visual and digital fashion design. There will be a DJ spinning tunes to accompany the show.

Guests can sip on cocktails, beer and wine during the show at Newtown Theatre’s cash bar as they watch the art unfold on the catwalk. The theater is located at 120 N. State St. in Newtown Borough.
