Ardent Credit Union (Ardent) announced the recipients of its 12th annual scholarship contest, which ran from March 1 through May 6.
The member-owned financial cooperative awarded $1,000 scholarships to 14 students pursuing undergraduate degrees beginning this fall, two of which are from Bucks County.
This year, Ardent wanted to spotlight student creativity. Instead of an essay, students were asked to submit short social media-worthy videos on the theme, “Tell us why you deserve an Ardent scholarship without telling us you deserve an Ardent scholarship.” Students highlighted their academic accomplishments, personal stories and community involvement, as well as athletic and extracurricular participation. The applications were reviewed and scored by the Ardent Scholarship Award Committee.
The following individuals from Bucks County were chosen to receive 2022 scholarship awards:
Jillian Nord, George School – Hamilton College and Matthew Holinger, Central Bucks High School South – University of Delaware.
Some of the judges’ favorite videos from this year’s winners will be posted on Ardent’s social media channels.
