AOY members showcase “Hope and Perseverance”

Posted
The community is invited to view original art by AOY member artists at their annual showcase.

This year’s show is titled “Hope and Perseverance” and seeks to encourage everyone to hope for a better future through art. Most of the art was done during the last six “pandemic” months.

“In speaking with our artists, there were often periods where they were, like so many others, just in a holding pattern with all that happened since March. Happily they found hope and solace through their art and found the strength to continue to create.”

There are landscapes of Bucks County countryside, remembrances of international travel and backyards. There are portraits and pets and colorful abstract works. All media is represented including oil, acrylic, watercolor, encaustic, photography and mixed media. There are also unique jewelry, handcrafted basketry and ceramics.

The exhibition can be experienced either in-person during the next two weekends through Oct. 4, or online at AOY Art Center Members Show, via aoyartcenter.org.

AOY Art Center is located at 949 Mirror Lake Road just off the Route 295 and 332 interchange in Lower Makefield/Yardley on the Patterson Farm. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
All art is for sale and proceeds benefits local artists and the nonprofit AOY Art Center. Purchased art must remain on display through the duration of the exhibition.

Visitors to the exhibition agree to comply with AOY safety measures, including wearing a face covering over both nose and mouth and to social distancing while in the gallery. The gallery volunteer will limit the number of persons in the gallery to not more than 20 at any one time for the safety of everyone.
