Animal Alliance Pet masquerade celebrates 18th year

Posted

The Animal Alliance Pet Masquerade Parade will take place at Mary Sheridan Park, 56 George St., Lambertville, N.J., from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 23.

The registration fee $20 per pet, with a free Wag Bag to first 50 registered. The event is free to spectators

Animal Alliance’s “Pet Masquerade Parade” has become an anticipated annual tradition in which four-legged contestants dress in their Halloween finest and parade before the judges competing for prizes. Pet owners and their costumed companions will help raise funds for the nonprofit pet rescue group in Lambertville as they enjoy an autumn afternoon of friendly competition, food, and community celebration.

“Funds raised from Pet Masquerade will help support our primary programs of rescue, shelter, rehabilitation, spay/neuter, and adoption. Each year these programs positively impact the lives of thousands of animals in need of assistance. The work we do on behalf of animals would not be possible without the participation and generosity of community members who support us by attending fundraising events like Pet Masquerade,” said Annie Trinkle, executive director.

There will be free games and activities for children, food and bake sale, gift basket raffle, and live music by local band All Winter Long, as well as a photographer to take portraits of people and pets against a fall backdrop created by Bye-Way Gardens.
