Lambertville Goes Wild and the Lambertville Environmental Commission are hosting the Green Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at Ely Park on Main Street in Lambertville, N.J.
With the theme “We Are the Solution,” the fair will focus on actions that each of us can take to manage stormwater, mitigate flooding, air and water pollution, reduce air temperatures, reduce fossil fuel usage, provide wildlife habitat, and generally improve our resiliency in the face of weather extremes. The fair is sponsored by a grant from Sustainable Jersey and PSEG Foundation.
The fair will provide opportunities to learn about the city’s recycling program, utility rebates, energy conservation, flood resiliency, water quality protection, native plants and pollinators, composting, and local green resources.
There will be a native plant vendor, representatives from NJDEP Sustainable Waste Management, DEP Parks, FEMA, JCP&L, The Watershed Institute, NJ Invasive Species Strike Team, Sourland Conservancy, and SPLASH Floating Classroom, as well as representatives from several Lambertville Commissions. Special events include live animals with the Mercer County Wildlife Center at 11:30 a.m., a kids sing-a-long at 12:30 p.m., and live music with All Winter Long at 1:30 p.m.
