Yardley Friends flea market to offer food, fun and great buys

Posted

Join Yardley Friends Quaker Meeting, at 65 N. Main St., Yardley, for a flea market on its grounds from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 9. The rain date is Sept. 16.

For 67 years, Friends at Yardley Meeting have worked together to celebrate community in a special way. The flea market is a tradition but offers a new experience each year.

The meeting’s tranquil yard becomes grounds to relax, eat, shop, and enjoy the music. The day also provides a chance to check out the labyrinth the Friends completed last year. If it’s too hectic that day, make a note to come walk it anytime. Ask about silent worship, Sundays at 10, a.m. and class for the children. All are always welcome.

In addition to the vendors of antiques, crafts and more, food choices include sausage, peppers and onions sandwiches, and this year there may be a new healthy choice. A bake sale will offer sweet treats, and there will be a book sale and a White Elephant sale.

Bring non perishable food items for Mercer Street Friends. Later in the day, a Habitat for Humanity Restore Truck will be there too.

Vendor spots are filling up fast. Contact yfmfleamarket@gmail.com or Doreen Gage at 267-391-8054.
