Worthington for Plumstead supervisor

Posted

As elected officials in Plumstead Township, we talk to residents all the time about why they moved to the township and what they like about our township. And whether they have lived in the township for 30 years or 30 months, the consistent answer we get is people move here and like it here because we aren’t developed like townships to the south of us are. While no township can stop growth, we work hard to maintain the character of this township. There is an election for a seat on the board of supervisors this Nov. 7. We are endorsing Lurleen Worthington for supervisor in Plumstead Township because we feel Lurleen is more closely aligned to what the residents of this township want.

Lurleen is a longtime resident of the township, having lived here 26 years. She and her husband are active in the community — Lurleen with community groups and her husband being on two township committees. Lurleen knows that people want to keep Plumstead from being what you see as you travel south on 611. She will continue to keep development like the village overlay district (known as the Stump Road rezone) that was proposed for the 611/Stump Road intersection two years ago from happening.

Lurleen is also fully committed to supporting our emergency services in our township — our EMS, police, and fire companies. She also understands the importance of maintaining our township roads, whether that is repairing potholes or removing snow so families can get to work and/or school.

Lurleen is committed to serving this community and takes her candidacy very seriously, having attended every board meeting and many committee meetings since announcing her candidacy. The people of this township deserve a supervisor who is totally committed to the community and the role a supervisor plays in the community, and understands what the people in this township want. We believe that person is Lurleen Worthington and we ask that you vote for Lurleen Worthington for supervisor on Nov. 7.

Jim McComb, Dan Hilferty and Greg Bankos are members of the Plumstead Township Board of Supervisors.
