William Andrew Franks

William Andrew “Bill” Franks died at home on December 13, 2023, with family at his side, after a long battle with cancer. He was 69. Formerly from Levittown, Newtown, Plumsteadville, and the Dominican Republic, he currently resided in Quakertown.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Estie (Sokol) Franks; mother Veronica Franks; brothers Joe Franks (Jackie) and Rob Franks (Anna); many nieces and nephews; and his feline son Timba. He is preceded in death by his father Andrew Franks, and brother Jeffrey Franks.

Bill’s passions included golf, highlighted by playing Pinehurst #2 and the Old Course St. Andrew’s, softball, playing and coaching basketball, music including playing the guitar and piano, gardening with trees and bonsai, and spending time with friends.

He worked as a Software Engineer and IT Project Manager for GRD, Inc @ NADC in Warminster, Pa. He would then go on to work for AEL, Inc., Dublin Agway, and the County of Bucks.

All are invited on Saturday, January 13 to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad St., Hilltown Township, PA 18927, for a visitation from 10-11 a.m. and a memorial Mass at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bill’s name can be made to the Doylestown Hospital’s Cancer Institute, The Pavillion, 599 W. State St. #307, Doylestown, PA 18901 or the Cancer Support Group of Greater Philadelphia at Gilda’s Club, 200 Kirk Rd., Warminster, PA 18974.
