Warminster Symphony Orchestra presents “An Evening with Ciarán Sheehan and Friends”

Posted

Mark your calendar for May 13, when Warminster Symphony Orchestra presents “An Evening with Ciarán Sheehan and Friends,” at 8 p.m., at William Tennent Auditorium, 333 Centennial Road, Warminster.

A native of Dublin, Ireland, Sheehan came to New York to pursue a career in the theater. From his critically acclaimed performances in the title role in “The Phantom of the Opera,” he went on to make a huge impact in Frank McCourt’s PBS hit, “The Irish ... and How They Got That Way,” and also starred in “Les Miserables.” His powerful voice and stage presence have been heralded as nothing short of astonishing.

Sheehan’s heartbreaking rendition of “Danny Boy” at the nationally televised funeral Mass of John F. Kennedy, Jr., and his wife, Carolyn, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York was profoundly moving. He also was a soloist at the funeral of Beau Biden, son of President Joe Biden.

Sheehan also performs throughout the country with Franc D’Ambrosio, Brent Barrett, and Marcus Lovett in The Four Phantoms, — a 90-minute celebration of the work of the many composers and artists who have made Broadway an American art form.

Special guests are soprano Kristen Plumley and Gabriel Donohue, a multi-instrumentalist who has toured with the Chieftans and other Irish music luminaries.

“We are incredibly thrilled to present ‘An Evening with Ciaran Sheehan and Friends on our stage in Warminster,” said Joseph Lovecchio, music director and conductor of the 65-member orchestra.

“Bringing world-class musical performance to our community is the mission of the Warminster Symphony, and I believe this concert will entertain, enthrall, and perhaps tug at a few heartstrings.”

Tickets at the door are $40 and $10 for students.

Advance tickets for $35 (cash or check only) can be purchased at John S. Cryan Jewelers, 673 Second Street Pike, Southampton, 215-357-8850; and M & H Custom Framing & Gallery, 318 York Road, Warminster, 215-443-0968. Tickets make a great Mother’s Day gift.
