Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home ceremony scheduled

Posted

March 29 is designated as National Vietnam Veterans Day.

The Doylestown Albert R. Atkinson American Legion Post 210 in Doylestown will conduct a “Welcome Home” recognition ceremony at 2 p.m. March 29, which area Vietnam-era veterans and their families are welcome to attend.

In addition, the members of Post 210 extend an invitation to family members of veterans lost during the conflict, as well as those who served the country.

America’s Vietnam Veterans did not get the Welcome Home they deserved when they returned home the first time.

In 2017 the Commander-In-Chief also issued a presidential proclamation, which stated, “To ensure the sacrifices of the 9 million heroes who served during this difficult chapter of our country’s history are remembered for generations to come, I sign into law the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017.”

Post 210 would like to specially recognize “Gold Star” Mothers. If you know of anyone, email: Chaplain@doylestownpost210.org.

The Vietnam Veterans “Welcome Home” will be conducted at 315 North St., Doylestown, and there is ample parking. There is no admission fee; the Vietnam Veterans and their families are all welcome to attend. RSVP for seating at email: chaplain@doylestownPost210.org or call 215-249-3034.
