Victim of Richland house fire identified

Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck announced Wednesday that with the assistance and expertise of Detective Sgt. Glenn Vandegrift of the Bensalem Police Department and its state-of-the-art ThermoFischer RapidHit ID DNA testing instrument, the decedent found in a house fire in the early morning hours of Saturday, Feb. 4, in Richland Township has been positively identified as Samuel Harrington, a 67-year-old man.

His cause of death is determined to be smoke and soot inhalation and thermal burns and the manner of death is determined to be accidental, Buck said. Harrington’s next of kin has been notified and were very helpful throughout the investigation. The Bucks County Coroner’s Office offers his family and friends sincerest condolences.
