The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown, which marks its 125th anniversary in 2020, kicked off a year of celebration with a special event at the Hotel du Village in New Hope Sept. 27.
The evening included a silent auction and entertainment by Lights Out.
The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown, as outlined on its website, was founded in 1895 to support and enhance the quality of life in Central Bucks County. The VIA opened Doylestown Hospital in 1923 and VIA members continue to govern the Doylestown Health system to this day.
