Cemetery Tour

Posted

Rick Epstein, center, leads an Upper Cemetery Tour in Frenchtown, N.J., at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28. The tour will visit the graves of Frenchtown’s unluckiest man and its second-most stubborn woman. It also will visit the pink granite monument that a father designed after his soldier son died in Missouri, and a monument to Robert Rittenhouse, who was lost at sea in 1935. At the final resting place of merchant Oliver Kugler, Epstein will read some of Kugler’s more inspired ad copy. The tour includes a bootlegger, a murderer, Miss Frenchtown of 1931, a high school teacher who helped establish Hunterdon Medical Center, and many more. Email RickEpstein@yahoo.com to sign up; the cost is $15, free for teenagers.
