Two guys show two views at Upstairs Gallery

Posted

The Upstairs Gallery in Peddler’s Village presents “Two Guys ... Two Views,” featuring work by George Donovan and Mark Smith.

The exhibit opens Sunday, Sept. 30, with a “Meet the Artists” reception from 1 to 3 p.m. and continues until Oct. 26.

After spending more than 50 years in the practice of architecture as the leader of an award-winning design firm, Donovan retired in 2014 to pursue artistic expressions in watercolor.

His work captures the picturesque vistas and historic simplicity of the past throughout the Delaware and Lehigh valleys, as well as the New England Coast. He also captures animals in their natural habitat.

Smith, the artist behind M. Louis Photography, takes traditional photography to a new place with Photocolors, creating digital art with the expressive feeling of a watercolor and the uniqueness of the original photograph. The result is a “uniquely expressive” approach to fine art photography.

The Upstairs Gallery of Peddler’s Village, shop #10 behind Earl’s Restaurant, is a juried co-operative. For membership information, stop in or call 215-794-8486. Call or visit online for exhibit information.
