Travis Manion Foundation’s 20th Anniversary 9/11 Heroes Run 5K held in Doylestown

Posted

Hundreds turned out Oct. 3 in Doylestown for the Travis Manion Foundation’s 20th Anniversary 9/11 Heroes Run 5K.
The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all levels and of all ages. The annual event takes place on or near Sept. 11th in locations around the world. It is an opportunity for families and individuals to honor local veterans, their families, and first responders.

Doylestown is the birthplace of the Heroes Run, which has grown to become a National 5K race series with more than 50 locations in-person and virtually across the country and around the world. The race series remembers the nearly 3,000 lives lost on 9/11/2001, and it honors veterans, military, and first responders who serve our country and communities.
The series was inspired by Marine 1st Lt. Travis Manion from Doylestown, who was killed by an enemy sniper in Iraq in April 2007 as he pulled his wounded teammates to safety.
