Town and Country brings magic of “Puffs” to Hansell Park

Posted

Town & Country Players production of “Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic” is for anyone who loves wizards, underdogs and/or badgers.
The show is not about a certain boy Wizard who went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This is the story of the Puffs … who just happened to be there too. “Puffs” is an original play by New York based playwright Matt Cox that ran Off-Broadway from 2016 to 2018 and will run July 17 and 18 at Hansell Park in Buckingham as part of the theater group’s “Summer in the Park” series.
The family friendly show centers around the “not-so-cool” kids at a certain wizarding school and examines the universal struggles of growing up, making friends, and finding a way to fit in with peers.

Director Jim Moore shouted, “Third or Nothing!” (the Puffs House modest motto) as he talked about how much fun he had working with the cast as they prepared to bring Puffs to Hansell Park. Moore describes the show as a “hilarious, heartwarming play that celebrates and embraces the unsung heroes.”
Admission to the “Theater in the Park” series is free, but donations will be accepted either at the show or through the web page townandcountryplayers.org/donate.html.
There will be two performances of “Puffs,” at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 17 and 1 p.m. Sunday, July 18. The Hansell Park amphitheater is located at 5069-5165 Hansell Road, Doylestown (Buckingham Township). Rain dates are July 18 at 5 p.m. and July 24 and 25. Guests should bring lawn chairs or blankets.
