TMA Bucks brings Bike to School Day to Kutz Elementary School

Posted

The TMA Bucks Community Traffic Safety Program recently partnered with the Doylestown Township Police Department and the Doylestown Township Bike and Hike Committee to hold a Bike to School Day safety event at Kutz Elementary School in Doylestown Township on May 13.

Fifty students from kindergarten to sixth grade participated in the bike ride that started at the Doylestown Township municipal building and traveled through Central Park and ended at the elementary school. Doylestown Township Police Officer Jared Courts biked with the students along with TMA staff and several parents and guardians.

“This was a great event that brought together the community to help teach some valuable lessons to young students outside the classroom,” explained TMA Bucks Deputy Director David Walter. “Bike to School Day promotes physical activity and encourages kids to use their bikes to get around safely. Most importantly, it serves as an opportunity to educate children and parents about bicycle safety which helps create a safer environment for everyone.”

The students, who also were briefed on important safety topics prior to the ride, received stickers from TMA Bucks after completing the bike ride to the school.
