Over the past week, three Pride flags have been stolen in downtown Doylestown.
Police are hoping the public might help them find the thieves. Officials posted a surveillance video that was captured at the most recent theft in front of an East Oakland Avenue business in the borough.
The first thefts came in the overnight hours of June 3 and June 4, on East State Street at Evolution Candy, where the owners have been supportive of Pride Month in the community. The business said it intends to continue replacing the flags.
A third flag was stolen June 11 from Volo Boutique on East Oakland Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m., according to the Central Bucks Regional Police Department. The theft was captured on video. It shows a white male removing the flag from the front of the store. Police described the suspect as having curly, shoulder-length hair and wearing a hat, glasses, shorts and a light-colored shirt.
Anyone knowing who the person is, or anyone with information about the thefts, is asked to call Officer Danielle Politsky at 215-345-4143 or submit an anonymous tip through Crimewatch.
