Posted

Those looking for a way to serve the local community are invited to participate from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, in an MLK Day of Service at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Road, New Hope.

The all-ages MLK Day of Service will begin with a free breakfast and a musical performance by Parkway Drumline. Following will be a talk by Jeff Marshall, chief diversity officer at UM and motivational speaker.

Then participants will make 15,000 meal kits for the Rise Against Hunger initiative and prepare meals for other local organizations. There will also be a Racial Wealth Gap Simulation Experience and an Equal Justice Initiative Exhibit.

Students can earn community service hours and families can show their children how to give back. For information and to sign up to participate, visit tmpc.org/mlk.
