This summer kids eat free

Posted

This summer, the Coalition Against Hunger can help children located in the counties of Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery find sites where they can eat free meals with no proof of income or ID required.

In Bucks County, free meal sites are available in Warminster, Southampton, Perkasie, Quakertown, Bristol and Levittown.

While school is in session, many children have a reliable source of nutritious meals, with millions of children receiving free or reduced-price school lunches as part of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).

The Summer Meals Program is a federally funded, state administered program that provides relief to families by serving free meals to youth 18 and younger, providing a needed resource for many families who struggle to access nutritious meals.

The Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger has created a Summer Meals Map to help families find their nearest free meal site. Until the end of August you can find the closest locations to you, by visiting phillysummermeals.org, or giving the Coalition Against Hunger’s Summer Meals Hotline a call at 215-770-4659.
