The Birches recognized for memory care

Posted

The Birches at Newtown has been recognized as “Best Memory Care” by U.S. News & World Report.

The “Best” ratings recognize senior living communities in the following categories: independent living, assisted living, memory care, and continuing care retirement community.

The Birches at Newtown provides a dedicated memory care neighborhood, Daybreak, uniquely designed for seniors with memory impairment due to Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. The community also offers personal care services that support seniors needing assistance with activities of daily living and medication management.

U.S. News produced the Best Senior Living ratings from consumer satisfaction survey data derived from resident and family member responses. To be included in the analysis, a senior living community had to participate in a consumer satisfaction survey between April and November 2022 and meet eligibility criteria, as defined by U.S. News.

Families of memory care residents noted excellence in value, activities and enrichment, management, safety, care services, location and environment, and staff and hospitality.

Within those surveys, family members and loved ones commented on their overall experience.

The Birches Executive Director Kim Cahill Yannuzzi, noted her staff appreciates the recognition and supportive sentiments from families of their residents.
