Among the many blessings in my life is the opportunity to serve the good people of Bucks County. As a county prosecutor from the late 1980s until 2010, I worked hard to protect our families and our neighborhoods from violent criminals and predators. For the last 12 years, I have had the honor of serving as a district judge in Upper Bucks County.
There are many gratifying aspects of the office I currently hold. I am especially proud of the successful partnerships I enjoy with the administrators and teachers of area schools. Together, we are committed to keeping our kids in school, off drugs and on the right track. We have a number of success stories. It is deeply gratifying to know that we absolutely have had positive influences on the lives of students and their families.
I was a candidate for reelection this year. As many of you may know, as a sitting district judge, I am permitted to engage in political activities only in those years in which I myself am a candidate for a judicial position.
As one of my last acts which even remotely touches on politics in this campaign season, I am submitting this letter virtually on the eve of the General Election.
Please permit me to express my sincere appreciation to those active in our local Republican and Democratic political committees who sought fit to support me for another six-year term. I was especially honored by the Republican Committee members who unanimously endorsed my candidacy despite being faced by a challenger who was being supported by a small group of disgruntled extremists.
The GOP’s unanimous endorsement spoke volumes. It was so very important to our community that our local committee members chose judicial independence over partisan politics or other “non-issues” — ones that do not pertain to the fair administration of justice. To all those in our community — Democrats, Republicans and independents — who expressed their support for maintaining a fair, impartial and independent local court, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
All of you are the guardians of Justice for All. Because of the commitment of so many wonderful people in our community, I will be granted the opportunity and honor to continue faithfully serving our neighbors and our kids throughout my next term. Thank you.
