Supporters come out in force for the Herald

Posted

Over 400 supporters of the Bucks County Herald Foundation gathered at the Michener Museum on Wednesday night for a sold-out fundraiser in celebration of the Herald newspaper’s 20th anniversary and to pay tribute to the Herald’s founding editor, Bridget Wingert.

“We are ecstatic that so many people love the Herald and recognize how critically important it is to keep trusted, nonpartisan journalism alive in our community,” said Joe Wingert, publisher.

Media host and author Michael Smerconish, a Bucks County native, kicked off the program by introducing a new short film about the Herald’s beginnings, its survival of the pandemic, and journey to becoming a nonprofit news organization. The film, directed and produced for the Bucks County Herald Foundation by local filmmakers Jennifer Lin and Thomas Brunt, will be released online to the public next week.

“I am so grateful for everyone’s support,” said Bridget Wingert. “This is a very special place.”
