Stover Mill Gallery calls for juried art show submissions

Posted

Submissions for Stover Mill Gallery’s Ninth Juried Art Exhibition are currently being accepted, for an exhibit to be held during four weekends beginning Oct. 15 at the Stover Mill Gallery on River Road (Route 32) in Erwinna.

Overlooking the Delaware River, the Stover Mill Gallery is on the first floor of the carefully restored 1832 Stover Mill, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since 1959, the Stover Mill Gallery has served as a showcase for outstanding regional artists active in the robust Delaware Valley art scene.

With over $4,000 in prize money, the juried exhibition is sponsored by the Tinicum Civic Association and will be juried by Mavis Smith and Rhonda Garland.

Following her studies at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y., Smith worked as a children’s book illustrator, creating over 70 books for prestigious publishers. Her paintings in egg tempera have been exhibited in Amsterdam, Santa Fe, and New York City, as well as at the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown.

Garland directs the Silverman Gallery of Bucks Country, which showcases the work of artists who reflect the traditions of regional Impressionists. She is also a painter whose works in acrylic, watercolor, ink, and gouache have been shown and sold in a number of regional galleries and juried shows.

Interested artists working in representational, impressionist or abstract modes, in any medium, are invited to submit original art for consideration through EntryThingy.com and look for “Ninth Annual Juried Show – Stover Mill Gallery,” where additional information can be found. All art must be for sale. The deadline for submission is Sept. 11.
