Prallsville Mills, 33 Risler St., Stockton, N.J., hosts “Fighting in the Hope of Freedom: The Peter Salem Story,” from 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 25.
Hear the story of what life was like for Peter Salem, still an enslaved solider, during the American Revolution. He was an enlisted soldier and is credited for fighting in the battles of Concord, Bunker Hill, Saratoga, Stony Point, and the battle of Monmouth.
