Solebury may allow zones permitting lodging of farm workers

Posted

The Solebury Board of Supervisors on Feb. 21 agreed to consider creating zoned areas on agriculture land for farm workers lodging in the residential/agricultural district.

The measure would be advertised only after hearing opinions from the Solebury Farm Committee, Solebury Planning Commission, and the Bucks County Planning Commission.

Supervisor Hanna Howe said this is something that has been requested for a long time.

In other news from the Feb. 21 meeting, the board awarded a service plaque to Michael Warden, the departing chairman of the Zoning Hearing Board.

Supervisor Chair Mark Baum Baicker said Warden “had served the township on a volunteer basis for two decades, as a member of HARB (Historical Architectural Review Board), the Deer Committee and, as mentioned, the Zoning Hearing Board. Did I miss anything? In any event, his contributions to the township were extensive and we wanted to recognize that with a small token of our appreciation.”
