Solebury Friends Meeting hosts Christmas and Mitten Tree Program

Posted

All are welcome to join Solebury Friends Meeting for its annual Christmas and Mitten Tree Program Sunday, Dec. 17.

Those attending should bring a pair of mittens, gloves, socks or a scarf to decorate the tree. The donated items will be sent to Mercer Street Friends in Trenton, N.J., for distribution to area families.

During the program, the story of Christmas will be read by youngsters, interspersed with carols, and accompanied by a small group of musicians. Children of all ages are welcome and child care is available during Meeting for Worship from 10-11 a.m., after which children will be reunited with their parents for the presentation.

The Mitten Tree Program will begin at 11 a.m., with potluck lunch to follow. Visitors and members are encouraged to bring a covered dish to share.

Solebury Friends Meeting is located at 2680 Sugan Road in New Hope, at the corner of Meetinghouse and Sugan roads.
