Sneak away from the crowds during Musikfest

Posted

Explore all Historic Bethlehem has to offer during Musikfest with kids’ activities, the Lehigh Art Alliance’s Annual Summer Juried Exhibition, and live demonstrations in the Colonial Industrial Quarter, the Goundie House Market and Goundie Garden Party on Main Street, and walking tours exploring the history of Bethlehem Steel and Colonial brewing in Bethlehem.

Stop by the 1810 Goundie House Garden at 6 p.m. Aug. 12 to get your groove on in the retro Goundie Garden Dance Party, the popular 70s style garden party with record spinning and a lounge area.

The 1869 Luckenbach Mill, located in the middle of Musikfest in the Colonial Industrial Quarter, will be open all 10 days with activities for the whole family.

At the annual Summer Juried Art Exhibition by the Lehigh Art Alliance, enjoy a variety of two and three-dimensional works of art from regional artists – available for purchase. Watch live artists working on site while you cool off in the air-conditioned gallery. Vote for your favorite artwork on display.

Visit the Springhouse for children’s activities and get hands-on with a hands-off material. Learn about glass and create your own suncatchers, stained glass, glowing glass, and mirrors.

Learn more about the furnaces that frame the festival on the South Side, the history of brewing, and early Moravian marriage with three walking tours offered Aug. 12 to 14.
