Signature Image submissions for Phillips’ Mill Juried Art Exhibition due

Posted

Signature Image submissions for the 94th Juried Phillips’ Mill Art Show in New Hope are being accepted through April 7.

Depictions of the historic mill will be reviewed by the Art Committee on April 10 to choose the image that will be used on all advertising and marketing materials for this year’s show –– posters, ads, invitations, postcards, social media, banners, invitations, and on the website.

This is a dynamic opportunity for high visibility of the artist’s work, style and name among the area’s community of collectors.

The winning artist will receive a $400 honorarium and will be promoted in the press and on social media. The artwork will be featured for sale at the show. (The artist is welcome to submit additional work to the juried show itself.)

The juried show will also be presented online, which will introduce the artist’s work to an international community.

Previous signature images have included whimsical as well as traditional depictions of the Mill and its surroundings. Phillips’ Mill is encouraging artists to consider themes of diversity and to “think outside of the box.”

Collages, watercolors, oils, and acrylics have all been chosen, so artists should feel free to use their favorite medium, other than photography, to create their vision of the mill.

Email a high-resolution jpeg of your work to artshow@phillipsmill.org by end of day April 7. Provide the title, size and medium of the piece, as well as your name, address, phone number and email address.

After a preliminary review of online submissions, finalists will be chosen and notified by email to deliver their work for in-person review at Phillips’ Mill at 2619 River Road, New Hope, at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 10.

The winning image will be revealed and announced on Phillips’ Mill’s website, social media pages, newsletter and other communications.
