Sign installation planned on Route 1 in Bensalem

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said overhead sign installation is scheduled next week for Route 1 under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen and improve a three-mile section of the highway in Bensalem and Middletown townships.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction: Thursday, March 21, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, lane closures with intermittent 15-minute stoppages will be in place on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 between Street Road (Route 132) and the Bristol Road overpass.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.
