It is an extremely rare instance in today’s politicized and polarized world when people from the opposing political parties can come together, put aside their philosophical differences and unite for the common good.
We, the undersigned, present you with that rare instance. Denny and Pidge Smith have long been active in Republican politics in Upper Bucks. On the flip side of the coin, Nancy Overton is a vital and active part of the Democratic Party in the Palisades area. We hope it speaks volumes that the three of us have come together to support Saul Ramos and Karen Beerer for Palisades School Board.
You would be hard-pressed to find more decent and qualified people to sit on our school board. Saul Ramos recently retired from 36 years of military service. While some would say that, after over three and a half decades of patriotic service to our country, Saul has earned a quiet and peaceful retirement, that isn’t in Saul’s DNA. Being a proud dad of three Palisades students, Saul’s immediate response was “How can I give back and serve my community?” This is what Saul is all about — family, service, community.
Karen Beerer’s entire career has been dedicated to education. First, as a teacher, then as an assistant superintendent of curriculum and currently working with states and school districts across the country providing instructional programs to help all students succeed. She will bring valuable experience and an in-depth perspective to our district.
Unlike some people running for school board these days, Saul and Karen have no political agendas. We firmly believe that they are the best candidates to ensure that our children in the Palisades School District get a quality education. Saul and Karen will do so while acting in a fiscally responsible manner for all taxpayers. We are confident that they will work will with school board members and with Superintendent Bridget O’Connell for the betterment of our Palisades children.
No matter your political affiliation, we hope that you — like us — will put aside political labels and support Saul Ramos and Karen Beerer for Palisades School Board. Saul and Karen are the candidates that our community needs and deserves.
