Saint Andrew’s Concert Series continues with new chamber ensemble

Posted

Michael Locati and his son, Gabriel, will present the inaugural concert of The Bridge Street Chamber Players at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 50 York St., Lambertville, N.J.

Michael is a violinist who has studied with members of the famed Guarneri String Quartet. Gabriel is a classical mandolinist studying for his Master’s Degree in Performance at Temple University.

“We hope to present four concerts a year,” commented Michael. “Each concert will have a central theme and will include in-depth commentary about the composers and the pieces.” The theme for this first concert is a survey of works by violinist-composers over a 300-year span, featuring works by Biber, LeClair, Mozart, Paganini, and Ysaye.

On March 10, Michael and Gabriel will be joined by Elias Goldstein (viola), Melissa Locati (violin), Priscilla Kim (cello) and Graeme Burgan (piano).

To enable Saint Andrew’s to continue its mission of presenting area musicians in a range of musical offerings, and to defray expenses for participating area musicians, free-will donations may be made the day of the concert ($20.00 per person suggested).
