In a hard-fought, close match in Conshohocken on Saturday, April 2, the Doylestown Rugby men’s team defeated Philly-Whitemarsh in the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union (EPRU) semifinals. The final score was 18-17.
Try scorers for the Dragons were Matthew Frederick and Max Compo. Dave Kornock kicked two penalty kicks and one conversion.
In the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union (EPRU) finals on Saturday, April 9, Doylestown will face off against Old Gaelic in Phoenixville.
The Doylestown Rugby women’s team defeated NE Irish Women, 26-19, on April 2. Elyse Garcia, Nikki Fairman, Lisa Rake and Grayce Fjeld each scored a try. Katie Walston made three conversions. The women now will prepare for 7s competition and welcome all women that want to come out.
In an away match on Sunday, April 3, the Doylestown Rugby Academy high school boys team lost to LaSalle. Try Scorers for the Dragons were Tyler Darrows and Reagan McCullough. Matt Cleland kicked one conversion. The next match will be against Conestoga at home on Sunday, April 10.
In a very wet EGRL game in Hoboken, N.J., the Doylestown Academy high school girls team fell to Aspetuck Girls of Connecticut, 43-10. Reaghan King scored the Dragons’ two tries. Doylestown will take on Knightmares Rugby in Lancaster on Sunday, April 10.
The Doylestown Rugby Academy junior boys team defeated Conestoga on Sunday, April 3. The final score in the away match was 43-18.

Try scorers for the Dragons were Aaron Kelly (two), Joey Craig, Gavin Graham, Marco Burns, Santiago Bustelo and Liam Hoey. Craig kicked four conversions. Conestoga had three tries and one penalty kick.
The next match for the Dragons will be away, on April 10, against St. Joe’s Prep.
The Doylestown Rugby Academy youth boys team defeated Conestoga on Sunday, April 3. The final score in the away match was 73-30.
Try Scorers were Louie Cipollo (three), Liam Hoey (two), Gavin Graham, Mason Darrows, Nick Miletto, Augie Verrecchia, Davis Parisi and Jamie Weir. Weir kicked nine conversions. Next up for the Dragons is Berks, in an away match on April 10.
The following eight Doylestown Rugby Academy players will be competing on Atlantis Invitational 7s teams at Tropical Rugby 7s International Youth Sevens Tournament in Tampa, Fla., April 15-16:
