The Doylestown Women’s rugby team fell to Harrisburg Women, 33-22, in a hard-fought, back-and-forth match April 1.

Elyse Garcia led the team with two tries. Ali Dowdy and Katie Walston-Frederick each added one try. Walston-Frederick made one conversion. The team will next take part in the Lentz Cup on Saturday, April 22.

The Doylestown Rugby Academy high school boys team defeated Conestoga, at home, on April 2. The final score was 51-14.

Try scorers were: Reagan McCullough (four), Andrew Gilroy (two), Cade Aivazian (one) and Owen McCarty (one). Bailey O’Malley made one penalty kick and four conversions McCullough and Gilroy were Men of the Match. On Sunday, April 16, the Dragons will travel to Union (N.J.) for a non-league match.

The Doylestown Rugby Academy high school girls team defeated Play Rugby USA in a tight match, 26-24, on April 2. Siena Accardi, Maddie Doyle, Reaghan King and Nolah Flynn each scored one try. Flynn also made three conversions. Doylestown will play Conestoga at home on April 23.

Playing at home, the Doylestown Rugby Academy junior boys team defeated Conestoga on April 2 in the opening league match. The final score was 68-5. Doylestown led 30-0 at halftime.

Try-scorers for the Dragons were: Aaron Kelly (three), Joey Craig (three), Gavin Graham (two), Liam Harding (one), Jackson Reilly (one), Jackson Hornick (one) and Alex Stukis (one). Conversions were kicked by Craig (one) and Stukis (one). Doylestown will play Blackthorn next in an away league match on April 16.

On April 2, the Doylestown Rugby Academy youth boys team defeated Conestoga at home in the opening league match. The final score was 61-17.

The Dragons led at halftime, 37-0. Try scorers for Doylestown were: Cross Cervellero (five), Hunter Pulford (two), Roman Wade (one), Mario Palena (one), Brady Meehan (one) and Joey Pacitti (one). Pulford also kicked three conversions. Conestoga scored three tries in the second half (with Doylestown players) and made one conversion. The next league match will be played away, against Blackthorn, on April 16.
